Romel,
Using a double servo arm creates other issue's, when pulling on one door you have to push on the other door, so you have to design a mechanism to counter that.
Using opposing magnets to keep the doors shut will work, but when you fire electric torpodo's they will stop running when they go by the doors, a nightmare for the uboot captain, limping home with two torps halfway out of your tubes, that should be fun.

Just a matter of using a double arm servo horn to pull on the torpedo doors. A spring or opposite pole magnets on the inside of the doors automatically keeps them shut.Leave a comment:

Pretty much the same system i did on the XXI, only disadvantage, you open both doors at the same time.
On my XXIII i can open the doors seperatly from each other, so you can shoot the torps one by one.

Bronco Type XXIII Torpedo Door Mechanism
For those not on Facebook.
Tomio Sugiura-san's Type XXIII torpedo door mechanism based off of Bob's illustration.
Instead of using an articulated Y-joint connecting both doors to the servo rod Tomio used 2 thin flexible rods directely connected to the doors and actuating servo. When the servo retracts the rods the guide sleeve squeezes the rods pulling the doors together.Tags: None
