Engel 212 Periscopes and masts are backwards?

Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_1952[1].JPG Views:	0 Size:	88.0 KB ID:	151523I have been puzzling over this for a few days, I can't figure it out. The Engel 212a uses the pressure hulls changing air pressure to extend and retract the periscopes and masts in the conning tower. According to the engel website and manual they should retract when on the surface and extend when you dive, makes sense right? but they work completely opposite. the mechanism has springs that pull them up and a small pneumatic cylinder that pushes them down when pressurized.

The boat uses a piston tank for a ballast system. When you dive the piston tank pressurizes the dry part of the pressure hull and this is what pushes the scopes etc down. The mechanism looks to be built correctly. I can't see how the pneumatic cylinder could be installed incorrectly. Any one have experience with this model?
