    Los Angles Class trim on the surface

    Is it just my imagination, or does it seem like the 688 class, as a rule, seems to run trimmed down by the stern on the surface? More so than any other class sub I've looked at pictures of....

    Correct. And you won't need much ballast tank, those boats only had about 15% reserve buoyancy -- very low freeboard.
