        Usually, the grill would get broken out for the full-day transit of the Panama Canal. Ours was the standard half 55-gal. drum. A pain to get in and out of standard hatches on the older boats!

              200 days? That's a really long patrol! I would have assumed that the Royal Navy had a tempo closer to 3 months than 6.
