I like! Might be a good solution for bow thrusters.

Have you done a tub test?
IMHO the duct needs to be longer with a gradual bend not 45°. Also the gill slits need to be angled more so as not to restrict flow.

Rob, What I meant was, if it doesn't work you could make a wall mounted plaque of the head. X-D

A very good effort, Rob. We all profited from your successes and well documented blunders -- there are lessons in both good and bad results of one's efforts while 'pushing the envelop'. You have the curage and confidence in yourself to deliver the bad as well as the good news. I like that! I'll drink beer with you anytime, pal.

Keep fighting the good battle, Ron. You fire eating, SCUBA mud sucking, whack doodle, robot making mad-scientist, you.

You shared ideas that others may be able to use. I am bummed you are not moving forward, but I get the burned out feeling. Thank you.
Look forward to when you may start your next project.
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Knock out the gills all together that might give the thrust needed
