Does anyone know if the scale shipyard is still in operation?

    I don’t think so.
Of the 40,000 men who served on German submarines, 30,000 never returned.”

Last time I emailed them was 3 and a half years ago. You can just email them and ask. Here was their email when I emailed them:

Didn't I hear that Lee had to relocate to the USS Iowa after some drama with his old shop? I haven't heard about any orders going out, but I haven't really reached out. I'll do that now and see if he gets back.

Making inquiries as to the viability of a business on an open forum like this is damaging and very bad form. Such inquiries should be made directly to the business you have concerns about, not an 'open letter' to the general public.

To my way of thinking, asking such a provocative (maybe even rhetorical) question to a forum is akin to yelling fire in a crowded theater; it only generates panic.

thank you for advice from the retailers side. Moving forward I will remember your advice and word my inquiry with a bit more forethought so as to not create any alarm.

Thank you for that, g2tiger. You're a stand-up guy in my book.

(Only after decades of self-inflected hard-knocks -- and publicly stepping on my own crank numerous times -- have I finally learned some good manners and reasonable form when it comes to dealing with other people and institutions).

In no small part to your initial inquiry, we have started to look into this matter, and will offer a report once we have assured ourselves of the facts.

Let me get this straight so I don’t violate the prime directive here. If you want to know if a vendor is still in business, you can’t ask and you don’t tell? A covert investigation has to be launched and afterward, the investigators will post a reply? I think a name for this operation is needed. Let’s see. How about, ‘The Merriman Doctrine’. That’s right up there with ‘The Reagan Doctrine’. Damn, I like that.
