I will be using Dremel white PLA and using my Dremel 3D40 DigiLab printer.

Are the side charges printable as separate pieces or integrated with the hull? Would be nice if they were separate as you can model the boat with or without them. Also a good way of covering the longitudinal seam.

      Romel,

The side charges are a separate print and piece. I am building this model to set for RC operation so the hull will separate along the longitudinal with a top and bottom hull. Just like the left hand photo above.

If it were me, I'd make it a dynamic diver. These boats had virtually no freeboard anyway. It would make an awesome, simple and fun pool sub. I'm betting maneuverability will be excellent.

Will cut the hull similar to Rob's boat.

              Romel,

I have to go with what Bob said about this boat! I am going to go with a dynamic diver for sure!

I have downloaded all the STL files and I have the parts listed on my print list.

I use these check sheets on all my 3D printed submarine parts list so I can keep track of what has or has not been printed out! I am waiting for my white PLA from Dremel and then we can start the build.

Just finishing up the last bottom section. From here I will move onto the top sections.

I have also made some progress on my 2.5" OD WTC. This boat will be a dynamic diver with no ballast system. Should be an excellent running boat for the pool.

Permanently attached or removable (with magnets)?

I have the hull sections on the X-Craft all glued up, including the side charges.

The stern section will be attached later after all the control surface linkages and the propeller shaft has been installed. Leaving it off at this point will allow better access to the linkage installations.
