After seeing biggsgolf Kilo project I resumed work on mine.
Managed to install the clevises for the rudder and stern planes in the tight confines of the KILO'S tail. Still have to test moving them with the SD installed.
Moving the control rods by hand I noted how much the clevis were able to move before hitting something and how much of the control surfaces deflected. [ATTACH=CONFIG]n151732[/ATTACH][ATTACH=CONFIG]n151733[/ATTACH]
As noted by HWSNBN, optimum angle is about 30-35°. Anything more and they act as speed brakes.
Finding the angles of the stern planes was easy just use a protractor. Unfortunately I misplaced mine so I resorted to those online apps like this one.
