    VEX Throttle Centering Mod

Don’t like self centering on the throttle, so I removed the spring and I put a small plastic piece of a wire tie in the swing mechanism. Works well.

I don't know vex but basically they are futaba from what I understand.. there is usually a ratchet surface on the gimbal and a small flat spring rides on that ratchet (to provide holding tension) with two small screws holding that leaf spring. sometimes its there and is backed off and sometimes its just not there..if the ratchet and holes are there-its a very easy thing to make a flat spring. check the other stick functions sometimes its used elsewhere . Regardless I suggest you put all unused parts, after this mod in a micro zip bag and leave in the trx case so you can find it in the future.

          Bob,
the holes are there but no leaf springs. I may make one from scrap one day.

              Bob,
Got to thinking, I searched the garage and found an old Airtronics transmitter. Still have the receiver too. Took it apart, removed the clip and installed. A little WD 40 and bingo. Works like a champ. Thanks for the suggestion. Now everyone that wants to mod theirs knows how. Thanks.

Someone down the road need a gimbal, Futaba T6EXA is its long lost cousin.

                secrtwpn,
If you need the leaf spring, PM me. Have spears.

Remove 9 screws from the back, use no power tools.
                unhook and remove spring.
tip, use a banded paper clip as a hook.

This is good to know. I have a couple of these Vex radios that could benefit from this modification.

                      Glad I could help-
there's a saying ... "the shoemakers children go barefoot" LOL this is my transmitter for my Mark V. The left stick is throttles and steering, the right stick is the jet buckets. Its working so well that I never opened the case to see what I have to work with! I just keep changing the rubberbands!

Can't think of anything thing that could change faster then the rubber band.
Also saw someone uses rubber bands to setup as dual rate.

find this some years ago, now you could program the TX with a phone. Over bluetooth.
