Maybe you can weigh the mass of all the plastic kits above the waterline yourself and then make an estimate to get a reasonable ballast water volume , it's really not that hard.
Mr. Merriman has done this operation tens of thousands of times and is probably tired of answering such questions, because you can do it yourself and it is not difficult.
So the Type 092 needs around a 250ml ballast tank. With a 2" diameter wtc, the BT section would be around 5 inches long.
Noticed with David's build the front fixed stabilizer with separate rudder control surface and not a full flying rudder. Would such a small surface have the turning power?Last edited by redboat219; 11-17-2024, 08:12 AM.Make it simple, make strong, make it work!Comment

David? What do I use to thin Bondo body putty out of tube to apply a thin coat? Lacquer thinner? Won't that attack the styrene? Or Isopropyl alcohol? Thank you in advance.Comment

David,
Once again your mastery shines through! I really envy you sir... I am blessed that the good lord is giving me this time and place to admire a real craftsman at work. It is such a pleasure each morning for me to grab a nice hot cup of coffee, sit down, and go over your wonderful photos for the day.
Thank you David! You truly inspire me and give me that reason to keep moving forward (and using the tools I have at hand) to enjoy this wonderful hobby!!
