    George Washington from Skipjack kits

Wondering if a boomer could be constructed by adding a section to the Skipjack kit as the real ones were built in similar fashion? thoughts?

Neat idea. Sounds like it could be a fun project. Might have to find the right sail, planes and rudders. All my research went into the Ben Franklin class boats so I really don't know.

Steve Neil did a conversion of a 1/96 D & E Skipjack into a GW by doing just that.

Maybe HWSNBN can make an aftermarket GW conversion kit for the 1/72 Skipjack.

Only surviving parts from the kit would be the bow, stern, and propeller. Period!

Please Hardrock, don't encourage him. He doesn't need anymore new projects until he finishes my Nautilus. I mean his Nautilus. What was I thinking

Wow, this is interesting! I built one of Steve Neil's 1/144 scale GW with big Dave's wtc last winter. I had no idea Steve made a 1/96 scale one first. Any chance he could be persuaded into doing a conversion set in 1/72? I would really like to have one!

IIRC, Steve did it as a vac form moulding, so it wouldn't be a fully scribed up hull.

That's the 1/144 version. The 1/96 GW Steve made was GRP.

How about splitting an Akula to make the K-535 Yuriy Dolgorukiy!
