When I look at the business guts of German rc sub, I think of space shuttle technology. Amazing stuff.

They are both rc, the F35 is made by Freek, and the F16 is made by Lex, both a different approach on propulsion, the F35 tradittional with a prop and the F16 with a waterjet with gimbal.
The waterjet takes care for all the steering, as with the F 35 he uses the ailerons and rudder, they run well on both choosen configurations, both planes run without a ADF and are fun to watch driving.

Steven, those docks are permanent there during the summer, i suspect they are removed during the winter, when the water is frozen the pond will be used for ice-skating
Near my home there is a dedicated water especially for modelboats, permanent placed, even with a mechanical lift to get big models into the water.

Tom, maybe in the future, transporting a model by plane could be a issue, unless i take the small one's as hand bagage, not sure if i have to remove the batteries from the models.
You're allways wellcome to pay me a visit, i can show you the cave and some sightseeing of the netherlands, as for the walrus subs, there were also some zwaardvis models, those are the forrunners of the walrus subs, you can seperate them by looking at the sternplanes, walrus has the X planes, zwaardvis has the crucifix planes.
The idea is, when the planes are damaged, you have more possibilities to steer with the walrus configuration.

Hi Manfred.

The harbor infrastructure? That is so cool! I always wanted to go to a regatta with docks like that. We can even dock our subs side by side in the water like real subs do!

Judges then can actually score docking skills too.

Are these piers built and transported to site for the regatta? Or permanent? It looks ironically like a plastic miniature Mulberry Harbor. (Ironic = a German Mulberry. .lol)
See posts also on one end of the dock that can allow piers to rise and fall with the ponds water levels.

I wish American regattas could have something like that. The local park services are so ****ing model boat unfriendly. WE have two local ones
San Francisco (Spreckles lake built in 1895 specifically for model boats!) and Walnut creek California. The San Francisco one is ideal, but far away and is a special trip. The Walnut Creek is closer, and I used to run my subs there, but sometime in the past since some park service added metal railing and the geese make the area toxic for model sub paint and radio reception.

Rob, majority was submarines of all sorts and scales, only a few targets, brought my OSA II, to give the guys some practise.
Talking alot with fellowbuilders, peeking inside their models, there is allways something new to learn, also had a guys who makes vids on Youtube, when he makes it online i'll post a link.

Toying with your peers. I like it! Nothing more satisfying than twisting the blade, just a bit.

Sometimes you have to tease them, i hope they get motivated to take the jump to do more.

Manfred, do you have any video of your XXI running? You did a fantastic job putting it together, and I’d love to see it.

Not yet, SWMBO, stayed at home, maybe someone else did, we have to wait and see.
If not, in the future i will take a vid about the XXI, she runs that nice it has to be documented.
