The USS Nautilus 571 is back on display at the Submarine Force Museum
After just completing a 36 million dollar Preservation Project.
Be sure to visit the Museum and the Nautilus.

SUBASE Public Affairs is exploring possible pier side SSN Tours.

I can't say what Frank has there. And he is not on the forum.

Fortunately on the rainy Saturday we had something to do. Most of us went on a two hour tour of the Virginia class submarine USS Oregon. What a privilege this was! We were picked up at North Lake in two white vans. We had to leave our phones/cameras in the van or back at the lake. After we climbed down into the boat the captain started describing where we where and some of the workings of the boat. At one point we broke up into smaller groups and our group we were shown around by Captain Ross (pictured). A couple of other officers took the other groups around the boat. Captain Ross answered many questions, although a few of my questions he said he doesn't know what I was talking about, meaning I cannot discuss that. A few pictures were taken outside the boat by one of our navy drivers. This is the one picture that passed on to us. What an awesome tour! Thank you US Navy and the Captain and officers of the USS Oregon.

Look like post-swirl stators to me. Is this worthwhile on a twin screw boat? I'm thinking that any advantage in recovering converting swirl could be lost by the increased restriction in an already compromised propulsion arrangement.
