These are photos of the 1/72 Lindberg I-53 Kit that I have been slow building over the last Three years to loosely resemble the B-3 boat I -58. For those modifying this model.. I concentrated on the bow, bow planes and conning tower , Search radar Platform added Bridge windows added.. Scratch built bridge interior. Snorkel moved to Portside. and associated plumbing added to snorkel.. the gigantis hatches were also reduced drastically. The photos I used for research were grainy and far away.. so some guesswork applied.. I drilled some extra Limber holes and added some molding but the hull shape and Limber hole pattern is wrong. I have however enjoyed this as a pratice scratchbuilding project lol
