    Cleaning Resin Coated Equipment.

I saw an article on another forum regarding cleaning equipment and felt it could be expanded on here.

If you are using epoxy or polyester resins and need to clean the material off to save the brush etc. then the best thing I have found it dish-washing detergent. As long as the resin is still liquid, the resin will dissolve into the detergent with a few swishes of the brush. Rinse off in warm water. Do not use soap, it doesn't cut the resin as well.

If the resin has set up, then hang the brush in LIQUID PAINT STRIPPER (methylene chloride). Put a plastic bag over the top of the container to keep it from evaporating. Don't use the gel type product. Rinse off, then use dish-washing detergent and rinse again.

If you have things like metal putty knives the resin has set on, then use a blow torch to warm up the blade. The resin will peel off easily if you scrape with a knife blade.
Stop messing about - just get a Sub-driver!
