Made some reinforcement rings to keep her at the right place, when using the clay you tend to push the plug down.

Used a bright led to find the weak spots in the clay, this way you won't have lekkage during the making of the mold.

First the gelcoat, you have to wait untill it turns sticky, this is the moment to get the first layer with epoxy on

Building up the layers, for this mold about 12, it has to be strong enough to handle some mechanical force.

The other side is pretty much the same story, don't forget PVA spray to ease the opening of the mold.

When all layers are done i will let her cure for a few days, after that i will split the mold to see what the result is.

Molds are splitted, this week i can start with making the actual hull, did some work on the techrack wich i want to use, Click image for larger version

Before i splitted the mold i drilled some holes in the flange, this way you have only one way to fit them together, when both hull halves are made i can use epoxy to bond them by turning the mold around.

Since laying up the mold is done in 1 hour a day i found me some time to build up the techrack i want to use, ordered some ESC's so i can finish it up, even found some room to add a levelkeeper, had a spare Wyfly receiver which fitted in.
When all things are done i can do some benchtesting, not sure if that tube at the end will do it's job of steering, that will be a thing for later.

For now i can start this week to lay up the hull, if all goes well i have a hull at the end of this week.

First step, getting in the gelcoat to catch every detail, same story as with the mold, once sticky you can start with adding the layers of glasscloth.

First layers in, when the material is still green i cut it level to the flange of the mold, less sanding to get everything even with the flange, when all layers are done i can extract the hull parts and prep them for fusing them together, when doing this i allways add some more hardener with the expoy, close the mold up and start rotating along the seem untill it is enough, let her cure for a day and split the mold to get my hull out.
